We work on physical products — appliances, medical devices, packaging, mobility, industrial equipment and consumer goods. Our work starts with understanding the user and the business context, and ends when the product is ready for manufacture. We stay involved through the full cycle: research, concept, engineering, prototyping and production support.
We work for Indian companies building for India and for global companies building for world markets. Some clients have been with us for over a decade.
We are based in Pune but the problems we work on have no geography. A fan designed for Indian kitchens. A contraceptive device that won a Red Dot Award and is used across thirty countries. Packaging for BASF recognised as the best in Asia. An air-conditioning control system for Blue Star that became a top seller.
What these have in common is not a category or a client type. It is an approach: start with what the user actually needs, design something that can be built, and make sure it competes when it reaches the shelf.
Ticket Design is co-founded and led by Bala Mahajan and Nishma Pandit, both graduates of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Between them they bring over five decades of industrial design practice. Bala leads design strategy and business development. Nishma leads design realisation and project delivery.
The team around them includes industrial designers, interaction designers, engineers and design specialists. Several have been with the studio for over ten years.
We are passionate design and engineering professionals who firmly believe that good design can transform an idea into a successful product.
We believe design is successful only when it can be delivered on scale, and are experienced in providing manufacturing-ready design solutions—prototypes, engineering specifications, and product lifecycle management. We also believe in breakthroughs and constantly work towards bringing a positive change that not only touches lives but also spreads smiles.
Our experience is drawn from our skilled team comprising of designers from reputed design institutes. Our team has the experience of having worked in globally competitive design environment on domestic and international projects. Fundamental to the success of our business is our constant effort to conceptualize in completely new ways to come up with radical ideas that change the way we look at things.
